SUMMER BREAK 3 – Coventry Station to Coventry City Centre

Jaguar Photographic Society Summer Walk
Coventry Station to Coventry City Centre | 1 July | 7.00 pm
Join us for our next summer shutdown walk — a relaxed evening photo outing from Coventry Railway Station into the city centre, with plenty of opportunities for conversation, creativity and image-making along the way.
Coventry’s modernised city centre features striking architecture, bold lines, reflective surfaces and strong shapes that make it ideal for creative photography.
We will also look at the rear and side elevations of buildings, where textures, details and unusual angles often reveal a completely different perspective.
Walk Focus
• Architectural abstracts and intentional camera movement (ICM)
• Images suitable for possible inclusion in the Coventry Festival Gallery
• A friendly social walk with time to chat, explore and experiment
Photographic Ideas
• People of Coventry
• Glass reflections and layered city scenes
• Repeating patterns, lines and geometric details
• Close-up abstracts of metal, concrete and texture
• Long-lens compressions of façades and architectural features
• Intentional camera movement for colour and form
• Contrast between older surroundings and newer development
If you own one, a full-frame 70–200 mm lens or equivalent would be ideal for picking out details and abstracts.
However, any camera or lens setup will work — the emphasis is on seeing creatively rather than having specialist kit.
Meet by the taxi rank at Coventry Station at 7.00 pm
If you have any issues or are running late, please call Martyn on 07715 497202 or Robert on 07730 403109 on the evening.
Everybody Welcome
