DESCRIPTION:The third round of our Annual Merit Competition. Members will be asked to submit up to 2 pdi (Projected digital images) and 2 prints on any subject. The only provisos being they must have been taken within the last two years\, and not having been in one of our competitions before. \nAdditionally one pdi can be submitted into the “Set Subject” category\, the theme B&W Tree/Trees being decided at merit 2 on the 19th November\, and these images must have been taken since then. \nThe images will be shown live tonight and all members present will be able to vote for the winners using our voting “app”. \nYou can find more information via the links below. It is a passion which has evolved from my early creative instincts as a student and blossomed as I began to push the boundaries of my own creativity and the features of my camera. In this presentation I go into some detail about my evolution from Landscape Photography\, my techniques and approach\, and what has and continues to inspire and drive me in my efforts in this genre. SUMMARY:SUMMER BREAK - MILL GARDEN - WARWICK
DESCRIPTION:JPS is now on its summer break. We’ll be arranging less formal meet-ups during this period where everyone is welcome.  \nFor the meet on the 6th August we will visit Mill Garden which is a privately owned garden at the side of Warwick Castle next to the River Avon. The garden is maintained by volunteers and all the entrance proceeds go to charity.\nThe garden is normally only open during the day but I have arranged with the owner for an evening visit just for us! \nDue to the nights drawing in I suggest we meet at the earlier time of 6.30.\nThe meeting place is outside the entrance to Warwick Castle opposite St Nicholas Church. I suggest parking in St Nicholas Park car park. \nNote: There will be an entrance fee into the garden of £4.00\, please bring the correct change if possible.\nIf for any reason the garden visit is cancelled (as the garden owners are quite elderly) we’ll just have a walk around Warwick.

DESCRIPTION:Don’t forget\, in our “Break” period everyone is welcome.  \nThis coming Wednesday\, the 23rd July\, we will revisit Warwick University\, but with a difference! \nWe will be walking through woodland\, passing pools (hopefully with some wildlife) and looking at the varying architecture that is Warwick University.\nIdeal parking is Tesco’s car park in Canon Park Shopping Centre and then meet on the corner of Sir William Lyons Road and Lynchgate Road at 7.00pm. By the roundabout. \nAgain we’ll be looking to take images that may work in the Best of 4 competition.\nSee you on Wednesday.

The area provides a green lung for the city\, a home for local wildlife\, a much-loved area for dog walking and\, in winter\, some of the best sledging slopes in Coventry! It also incorporates 19th-century Paxton’s Arboretum and the recently restored Anglican Chapel. \n  \n\n\n\n\nThis week’s theme – Negative Shapes\nNegative shapes are the empty spaces surrounding the main subject or positive shapes within a composition. They are the areas that are not the focus of the artwork\, but play a crucial role in defining the overall design and visual impact.
